Thankyou Launches New DTC Ecommerce With Pattern

Australian-founded social enterprise, Thankyou, has partnered with Pattern to plan, execute and manage an end-to-end outsourced ecommerce solution as part of its ambitious global growth mission.

Melbourne-born in 2008, Thankyou is 100% owned by its charitable trust and functions on a unique operational model. Thankyou makes quality products designed to be kind to humans and the planet, directing all profits towards poverty-alleviation projects – resulting in over $18.1 million in contributions to date.

In close partnership with Pattern, Thankyou recently launched its ecommerce channel, making a new expansion into the D2C ecommerce space to increase customer reach and sales.

“We recently launched a new personal care product range in Australia, but our sights are set on a larger goal—extending our reach worldwide. In the coming years, we’re committed to expanding our operations into new countries, magnifying our impact, and surpassing the 23 million consumers in Australia to enter markets with 2.9 billion consumers, creating an even greater impact on global poverty,” said Daniel Flynn, Co-founder and Managing Director of Thankyou.

“We’ve partnered with leading ecommerce accelerator Pattern to manage our direct-to-consumer operations and drive uptake of our range of transformative consumer goods. This strategic partnership ensures that not only will our business grow through Pattern’s expert support, but it will also allow Thank You to concentrate on our core strength — developing our brand and the impactful story it tells.”

Pattern has collaborated with Thankyou to design and implement its outsourced ecommerce strategy, overseeing crucial aspects such as ecommerce channel management, website development, digital strategy, digital marketing, warehousing and order fulfilment and ongoing customer service.

Providing support across a multi-phase ecommerce roadmap, Pattern first conducted a comprehensive analysis of the Australian ecommerce market, including reviewing Thankyou’s current operations, its resourcing, digital marketing, and product range ahead of launch.

To drive ecommerce sales growth going forward, Pattern is leading customer acquisition through SEO and digital marketing activity, including paid search, paid social, email, managing YouTube and influencer campaigns, along with marketing to Thankyou’s customer database.

“We are thrilled to be an integral part of this next phase in Thankyou’s journey. As a full-service ecommerce accelerator, Pattern is excited to collaborate closely with such an innovative and important social enterprise, leveraging our expertise to optimise Thankyou’s ecommerce performance and amplify their impact within Australia and globally,” said Merline McGregor, General Manager at Pattern. “We’ve recently launched our end-to-end D2C services to Australian brands, which is designed to help them offer an exceptional ecommerce customer experience, whether they’re newly launching in the ecommerce space or they’re not positioned to manage this in-house.”

In addition to managing D2C ecommerce trading activities, Pattern is running Thankyou’s entire D2C supply chain operation, ensuring the efficient distribution of products from its state-of-the-art Melbourne warehouse. The team will also operate pre-and post-sales customer service for Thankyou to foster positive shopper sentiment and help build brand loyalty.

“For over a decade, Thankyou has been chasing a single idea — to be a sustainable social enterprise at a global scale, making an impact around the world. But to get there, we’ve had to reimagine everything. Retail and ecommerce sales underpin this new plan for growth, and we’re excited to be working with Pattern to make it happen,” concluded Flynn.
